Most ways to learn Go hand you a book. This one hands you a board and waits for you to play.
Every lesson asks you to place a stone, mark a point, or judge a position — and the board answers immediately. You learn by being wrong somewhere harmless.
Courses run from "what is a liberty?" through good shape, life and death, capturing races, joseki and endgame counting. Start anywhere; they don't assume the last one.
60 levels, each a real step. Level 1 plays gently and gives you chances. The top of the ladder will test a serious amateur. Move up when you're winning comfortably.
Switch the tutor on and it watches the game as it happens — warning you before a move that drops stones, naming the shape you just made, and showing where it would have played instead.
Not just a number. "B6 puts a group in atari — a strong forcing move you passed up." Step through any finished game and see where it actually turned.
9×9, 13×13 and 19×19. Chinese, AGA and Japanese rules, adjustable komi, handicap games. Ko, seki and scoring all handled correctly.
