Not a wall of text

Most ways to learn Go hand you a book. This one hands you a board and waits for you to play.

Lessons you play, not read

Every lesson asks you to place a stone, mark a point, or judge a position — and the board answers immediately. You learn by being wrong somewhere harmless.

From liberties to counting

Courses run from "what is a liberty?" through good shape, life and death, capturing races, joseki and endgame counting. Start anywhere; they don't assume the last one.

A ladder, not a difficulty slider

60 levels, each a real step. Level 1 plays gently and gives you chances. The top of the ladder will test a serious amateur. Move up when you're winning comfortably.

A coach while you play

Switch the tutor on and it watches the game as it happens — warning you before a move that drops stones, naming the shape you just made, and showing where it would have played instead.

Review that says something

Not just a number. "B6 puts a group in atari — a strong forcing move you passed up." Step through any finished game and see where it actually turned.

Real Go, properly done

9×9, 13×13 and 19×19. Chinese, AGA and Japanese rules, adjustable komi, handicap games. Ko, seki and scoring all handled correctly.

It never talks to the internet

Not as a setting you switch on — as a property of the app. There is no networking code in it at all.

  • No account. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to sign in to.
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Not a single third-party SDK watching you play.
  • No servers. The neural engine runs on your device. Your games never leave it.
  • Works anywhere. On a plane, on the subway, in a basement.

Free to start

Levels 1–20 are free to play, with the coach free through level 10. One optional purchase unlocks all 60 levels and the coach at every level, permanently. No subscription.
